The ITI seeks input from its Members in steering the strategic direction of our research, in the R&D programme selection process and, ultimately, as active participants in the programmes.

Reducing the risks associated with strategic technology development
Prior to embarking upon any R&D programme, ITI Techmedia undertakes an assessment of programme viability to ensure that the risk associated with the programme is minimised. The ITI also assumes responsibility for the direct cost of the R&D activity, mitigating against the major risk associated with independently undertaken research.

Access to new intellectual property and the opportunity to create significant competitive advantage in proprietary products or services
In order to demonstrate their commitment, programme participants are expected to invest some of their own time and resources. In return for this commitment, they will have the option to negotiate rights of access to the resultant intellectual property.

Access to unique, valuable global intelligence concerning the market potential of emerging technologies
The ITI undertakes rigorous market foresighting to identify pre-competitive technologies and business opportunities that can be developed for global markets. This market intelligence includes both primary and secondary research, competitive analysis and technological intelligence. This information is made available to our Members.

Connection to a global network of companies with similar technology interests
ITI Techmedia has built a networking community that brings like-minded individuals and organisations together. Member forums encourage the exchange of ideas. Within our Member network we also have a number of organisations offering special services to other Members at preferential rates e.g. Strategic Planning Consultants and IP Attorneys. Membership Fee 
From April 1st 2009, ITI Scotland are introducing FREE Membership. Annual ITI Scotland Membership includes Membership of ITI Techmedia, ITI Energy and ITI Life Sciences.
